To create the Wolf Blass Gold Label collection, our winemakers select the definitive varieties of the very best South Australian wine regions to produce a range of progressive, elegant wines that showcase both regional and varietal excellence.
Eden Valley produces elegant Riesling with fine structure and pretty floral characters. The vineyards are grown on extremely shallow, shaly soils, resulting in low yields of intense fruit displaying lovely chalky minerality that reflects the soils the vines are grown in. After gentle crushing and pressing, free-run juice was chilled, cold-settled and racked prior to cool fermentation over 14 days to preserve the fresh, varietal aromas and flavours.
Note: The tasting note reflects the wine when it was tasted in 2015 upon its release. It has since evolved and developed further complexity following years of careful bottle maturation in our cellars.
Our winemaking team have recently tasted this wine and confirmed its condition. It is drinking beautifully today showcasing intriguing aged characteristics that can only be derived with the passage of time.

Evocative aromas of lemon and kaffir lime leaf with a bouquet of orange blossom.
The palate is soft and round, showing generous citrus fruits, yet has a deceptively long mineral acid structure, finishing crisp and clean with subtle blossom notes.
Cool-climate Eden Valley is no lush farmland with gently undulating hills: its rugged, windswept terrain and steeply sloping gradients are peppered with rocky outcrops and gnarled gum trees. Eden Valley’s ancient soils and its varied topography nourish a range of distinctive, aromatic and elegant wines. Traditional grape growing in the region focuses on sustainability and authenticity.
Good winter rains held promise for the season, however spring was unseasonably dry, with flowering and fruit-set early and in rapid succession. Summer was mild, with a downpour in mid-January doing no more than refreshing the vines. A warm, even February with no hot spells led to an excellent quality vintage.
