Acclaimed Australian artist, David Bromley, has been appointed Creative Director of the Wolf Blass Birdcage marquee at the 2016 Melbourne Cup Carnival, following a highly successful partnership in 2015. The marquee celebrates the release of the stunning new collectable wine series, Bromley by Wolf Blass.

David has emerged as one of the most recognisable and innovative artists in Australia. Over the past 20 years David’s work has fostered widespread acclaim and notoriety in Australia and internationally. He has exhibited on nearly every continent including Asia, Europe, Africa and America.

On designing the Birdcage, Bromley said "I like the idea of a shelter, an experience. I want to provide some comfort, some visual charm. A beautiful, extravagant home experience. Something memorable, so they can mark a time when they came here. That's what I really love to do with environments, just make the world disappear a little bit."

This is the third year Wolf Blass and David Bromley have joined creative forces. In 2014, David Bromley commemorated Wolfgang Blass’s 80th birthday by painting his portrait, “Wolfie”, which was entered into the Archibald prize and now proudly hangs in the Wolf Blass Visitor Centre.
